Patchwork

Now how this title hit me!

I always admire people who have a flair for writing. Be it books, news, poem and anything that they can scribble with their pen on paper.

My best friend, Phyllis have inspired me when she starting blogging in year 2005. She penned her thoughts and explored her inner talent that demonstrates her trait of writing. Reading her blog I begin to know her in-depth and was glad that God gave her a smart brain. One day she said, “Hey, you too can start blogging”. “Me? Oh, no, I am just useless in writing except for business letters”, I told her. But this “push” has stayed with me and I told myself. When will my blog be born? Thanks Phyllis for the inspiration.

Recently, I read a saying in MSN spaces that goes “You don’t have to be a novelist to keep a space. Just add your holiday photos. Show off your favorite music. There are so many ways to tell your story.” Well, this gave me a head start. Yes, I don’t have to be a novelist. And that’s why I call it patchwork. Why? This brought me to my childhood memory where I used to see my mum stitching up pieces of odd-sized cloth from remaining textiles to do her patchwork that was sewn into blankets, pillow cases, bags or anything. The final patchwork blankets are to keep me and my other sibling’s warmth, patchwork pillow case for my security pillow and bags for multi-purpose usage. Putting those different pieces together takes time and energy to finish the final masterpiece. One can do it at their own pace, their creativity to their desired design and pattern as shown in the photos.

So, with this in mind I was encouraged and told myself, why not… my PATCHWORK blog is going to have these characteristics. Yes, I will patch up and penned my thoughts, show photos, and post nice articles, something motivation and inspirational that I have come across throughout my life and put them together – to make a masterpiece: my blog.

Remember, you don’t have to be a novelist to start a blog!

Life is in fact a great hoax to us. From the ancient time, so many philosophers , thinkers and religous Gurus have tried to realize the meaning of life, but nobody could give the perfect meaning of life. But from your blog, it will creat some more curiosity to the readers that will read it and of course they will enjoy it and will have a new outlook from it so that they can spend a real nice and good happy life in future.

Hi! Kishore,

Very true. There are many facets towards the meaning of life. I sincerely hope that my thoughts and reflections will benefit others and at the same time I will also benefit their comments.

Thanks for your thoughts :)

Well said. Share our thoughts. To change -it will be like the stictching process of the patchwork. However, will look on the bright side. Over time definitely will.

Visit often - don’t be disappointed…. that the masterpeice take a longer time to finish. Will do it at my own pace…. Never give Up! Good Day!

Hi! Desi,

How encouraging. Surely, Malaysian semua boleh la! Tak ada gula tak apa. Tak ada cawan pun tak apa. Have patchwork blanket already can! Yes! That’s it. Spirit that never say die.
